Lakesmere has an established, award-winning Health & Safety system and operates to ISO 14001 standards. Lakesmere International is also an accredited member of Build Safe UAE.

At Lakesmere every employee is focussed on Health & Safety excellence and we have proudly achieved one of the safest working environments in the industry. Our own safety initiative LIIFE (Lakesmere Incident & Injury Free Environment), which encourages individuals working for or on behalf of Lakesmere to embrace a proactive health and safety culture, has contributed greatly to the company’s Accident Frequency Rate falling from 0.5 to 0 in 8 years.

Lakesmere maintains 100% compliance to the CSCS and CPCS schemes and our SHEQ team, the company Directors and key managers hold recognised Health & Safety qualifications including NEBOSH, and IOSH, plus all project managers hold the SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training) qualification. The company also employs external Safety advisors, Hurst Setter & Associates, whose responsibilities include training & consultancy, site audits and an annual review of the company’s Health & Safety Policy.

Lakesmere’s International Health & Safety Manager together with Hurst Setter oversee our site teams, sub contractors and where appropriate our supply chain to ensure that risk is evaluated and addressed appropriately.
A Project Plan is prepared as a matter of course on all contracts and includes an in-depth Method Statement, Risk Assessment, Manual Handling Assessment, COSHH Assessment and Quality Plan.

Where appropriate, training is identified and undertaken and regular site inspections are carried out to ensure that all operatives are fully compliant.
